Fisch Brainstorm workshop "Complex fluids, complex product formulation"
Within FISCH the possibility of initiating a new Innovation Program is explored.
This program would focus on rheological and colloidal aspects of all kinds of liquids : reaction fluids, varnishes and paints, detergents, foams, cosmetic and pharmaceutical creams, bottling liquids, drinks and other liquid food, ... The transition to sustainability accelerates the introduction of increasingly complex products. This complexity stems from product compaction, reduction of non-value added ingredients such as water and solvents, and the increasing use of renewable materials. Products have a low environmental impact, reduced or simplified packaging and low transport costs. These changes lead to complexities in the operation and possible difficulties with the durability, applicability and stability of the product. Predictive chemical product design is a fast growing multi-disciplinary field of chemical technology. It uses advanced computer modeling and visualization approaches, new analytical spectral techniques and microfluidics techniques to predict, evaluate and improve the processing of complex formulated products. The development of innovative solutions to the challenges mentioned is considered as an innovation program to be created within FISCH.
FISCH would like to call upon the expertise and experience of the Flemish companies and research institutions to discuss this theme in a first meeting in order to deliver together the right focus and arguments for such a program.
The brainstorming meeting will take place on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 10:30 to 12:30 at Brussels Diamond, A. Reyerslaan 80, 1030 Brussels. The session will conclude with a sandwichlunch. Please confirm your participation to Sofia Torcq at email@example.com before Tuesday, February 26, 2013.
