How to find your way in the world of patents? - 6/03/2012

On Tuesday, March 6, 2012, Innovation Center Vlaams-Brabant in cooperation with Leuven.Inc organizes a training on How to find your way in the world of patents. 

Patents are a powerful source of technical, but also strategic information.

Did you know that 80% of the information contained in patents, can not be obtained anywhere else? And that 95% of the topics in research and development are already available in patent form? Thanks to online databases, you are able to explore personnally the source of information and retreive  fast and for free all interesting information for your business and developments.

With this training, the  Innovation Center Vlaams-Brabant and Leuven.Inc guide you in this powerful library.

After a theoretical introduction, you get to work in an interactive quest in Espacenet (computers are available). This practice exercise will teach you how to read patents and especially what use they have for your business.

Objective of this training is

• to acquire basic knowledge about patents and Espacenet
• to use that knowledge to your products, processes and knowledge to protect
• to use that knowledge to get inspiration for new products and processes
• to use that knowledge to accelerate innovation

This training is relevant to you if you:

• regularly develop new products or processes and protect it in a sensible way
• want to follow the latest developments closely
