Infosession Baekeland and Innovation Mandates

The VUB Knowledge and Technology Transfer Interface organizes an information session on doctoral and post-doctoral mandates funded by the Flanders Innovation and Entrepreneurship Agency (VLAIO, formerly IWT)

The session will take place on Wednesday July 6th 2016 from 10 am until noon @ Building D, room D2.01 at Campus Etterbeek (Promotiezaal). Participation is free but subscription is mandatory for the different sessions.

The following mandates will be addressed:

  • 10.00-10.45: Baekeland mandates. The purpose of the Baekeland mandates is to support basic research at the doctoral level in close collaboration and co-funded by a company. The mandates should be directed towards achieving a PhD and should aim to build up scientific or technological knowledge as a basis for economic applications (Speaker: Program coordinator Els Tourwé).

  • 10.45-11.00: Coffee break
  • 11.00-12.00: Innovation mandates. These mandates target postdoctoral researchers who wish see their research findings applied in industry, either through collaboration with an existing company, or a new spin-off company to be established (Speaker: Program coordinator Els Tourwé).
