Research Meeting @ Breakfast : Flanders' Plastic Vision brings innovation in the world of plastics- 06th March.

past

Everyday we are faced with new challenges for existing plastic products: can they become lighter but also stronger, can they integrate additional functionality without compromising the existing quality?

Processes are continually questioned: can we go faster, can we use less energy?

Flanders' Plastic Vision brings together various partners in order to respond to the questions above.

Although the organization is relatively young, there are a number of ongoing projects and several new projects are in the pipeline.

The themes considered as strategic by Flanders' PlasticVision for the plastics industry concern energy, biomaterials and added functionality. There is eg. a current feasibility study on abrasion resistance of plastics and a projection in relation to microprocessing of plastic materials. There are also 3 collective projects submitted in the fields of renewable biopolymers, the use of natural fibers such as hemp and flax, energy optimization and recycling.

During this breakfast session, after a brief description of the competence pole, each of the above projects will be explained.

This research meeting is relevant for you if you:

  • are looking for innovative solutions for efficient plastic production;
  • in addition to fiber reinforcement within your product range, also need absorption of acoustic and mechanical vibrations;
  • want to learn about developments triggered degradation product;
  • are looking for a solution for everyday technological problems in your production;
  • want to think and act green but have no knowledge of sustainable biomaterials;

At this research meeting, Jan Geeraert -CEO of Flanders' PlasticVision- gives you more information on current and upcoming innovative projects for the plastics and rubber processing industry.
