VUB PhD Research Day 2013
Open Science - towards a new paradigm? - Keynote speaker: Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia)
Following the successful first edition of 2010, the Central PhD Office and the Doctoral Schools join forces once again to present the second VUB PhD Research Day!
Presentation days usually take place within faculty boundaries or those of the Doctoral Schools, these events inspire us to organise this great event in honor of all our PhD students of all disciplines for the second time. Currently, there are approximately 1300 young researchers preparing a PhD at the VUB. By organizing the PhD Research Day we give them the opportunity to meet each other and to present their projects to the entire VUB community. The event is meant to be inspiring and we hope to bring our researchers closer together.
This day, dedicated to the VUB’s PhD students, will include keynote presentations of internationally acknowledged speakers, presentations and panel discussions per faculty, a multidisciplinary poster session and a big reception. Since it is next to impossible to enable all 1200 PhD students to present their work, a poster session will be organised per Doctoral School, where different research departments as well as individual junior researchers will be able to present a scientific poster.
All information on this event (calls, registration modalities and practical info) can be consulted on this page www.vub.ac.be/phdresearchday.
