Enhancing the T-cell stimulatory capacity of human dendritic cells and their use in cancer vaccination
Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Therapy
Because of their key role in orchestrating immune responses and in particular in inducing primary responses, tumorantigen-loaded dendritic cells (DCs) are being used in clinical studies as therapeutic anti-cancer vaccines. Nonetheless, satisfying immunological responses and clinical outcomes have not been achieved so far. Therefore, it is believed that providing the DCs with a more potent maturation/ activation signal will improve their effectiveness in vaccination strategies.
