The economic contribution of Flemish universities

With a combined income of €2.2 billion each year, 32.000 staff people, and 125.000 bachelors and masters students, the Flemish universities have a significant presence in Flanders. In 2016, for each €1 generated through their direct operations in Gross Value Added (GVA), they created almost €6 in total benefits for the economy of Flanders.
