Tempus Omnia Relevat (TOR) and its spin-off CESOR
Cesor was established in answer to the rising demand for contract research in the research group Tempus Omnia Relevat (TOR).
TOR is a division of the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Economic, Political and Social Sciences and Solvay Business School under the direction of Prof. Marc Elchardus.
More and more companies, as well as governmental and other organizations, call on academic researchers to support their work. However, due to their workload, academic researchers are not always able to handle every research request, no matter how relevant or scientific. The next logical step was to spin off certain research activities into a commercial company.
Michael Debusscher - a sociologist associated with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel for many years - set up the BVBA CESOR, relying on broad research expertise in the area of social science research, sociological theory formation, statistical analysis and objectorientated reporting. With its expertise in these areas, CESOR is a consultancy firm for social-scientific and operational research with a role to fulfill in every phase of the research process, from start to finish.
CESOR’s activities not only focus on consultancy, but also include qualitative and quantitative inquiries and data analysis.
The Vrije Universiteit Brussel and CESOR have reached an agreement about the transfer of measuring instruments to CESOR. The university reserves the right to use the measuring instruments for the purposes of academic research and education, and CESOR agrees to pay a fee for the transferred know-how. As a spin-off, CESOR maintains a unique link with the Tempus Omnia Relevat research group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
