Women remain underrepresented in high-tech and scientific sectors, with only 29% of PhD graduates in engineering across the EU and only 10% of patent applications coming from women inventors. Next to a severe under-representation with only 25% of female entrepreneurs in technical professions such as science, engineering, or ICT.
To close that gap, Brussels is looking for a new female science & technology ambassador to encourage young girls and women to choose a technological or scientific education.
